it's just a tourist trinket, it all looks pretty late and low end in my opinion. Maybe it is a case for a kogai, as in 'hair pin', not the kodogu kogai :-)

The case is modern..not something I would consider worth much more than a passing glance. Maybe someone was bored oneday.
