At this time there was a Seki sword smith which signed Tadamasa ((忠正 (Tadamasa) 大塚 唯夫 (real name xx Tadao)).

Unfortunately I have no more information, but I am quite sure that somebody on this Forum will know more ;-) - even these fellows will correct my translation

Do you have some pics from the blade?

Alf,

he was a Seki sworsmith of WWII and started in swords at Seki in 3rd Sept 1942 (Showa 17). Out of interest, is his signature just two kanji and in "flowing" script (sosho), that is not the usual squarish type kanji? I ask because a Tadamasa Seki blade was my very first blade in 1971.

Regards, George.

Hi Guys, no George it is 4 Kanji, but it looks very graceful.Ihad the Translation done in Japan,i have a Friend over there who teaches english,i made a Rubbing witch he got translated-it reads"MURAI TADAMASA".The sword has been refitted and i have been told the tsuba is early edo era,i am puzzled why,as the blade is in need of a polish and the Saya is like a well used ww2 item.It is much easier to collect european sabers, but this is so much more interesting.I will try to take some Photos as promised, and post them--thanks to all of you, this makes it a little easier to feel your feet, but beware,i have lots of questions, and i am as keen as mustard.thanks again, and keep your help coming. alf s.
