Toshihide ?

Hi Guys

 

Is this sword made by the famous wartime smith Toshihide? $1525 for a mounted Toshihide in good polish seems very cheap if it is a genuine, or is there something I'm missing here? Looks non-traditionally made but still...

Gimei, look at the blade its a typical Seki Showato. Mei doesn't match Horii Toshihide at all.

The "Hori" and "Toshi" kanji are not even close (as Peter indicated).

I have a gunto with the signature "Noshu ju Asai Toshihide" Not a lot of info on him but there is an oshigata on the web. No Seki or showa stamp on it.

The blade in question is signed "Horii ToshiHide".

[Nobody]

The blade is clearly signed Asai Toshihide (浅井敏秀), who was one of WWII Seki smiths.

I assumed the first kanji to be an illegible (to me) "Hori". The second-"I" kanji threw me.
