Yes, they're visible. Okay, Sojy, now please remove the sheath, and take a few photos of the bare blade. And we post our first names so that you know how to address us.

Thanks for your guidance Ken. Let me get them and post them later ASAP as the sword is back in my home country India.

pending more photos of the blade, we can already categorize this type of sword as a Kyu Gunto, à military sword from the Meiji period to the early 20th century. The blade will probably reveal other details, provided it is in good enough condition.

More appropriately, this is a Type 19 Parade Sword. Not meant for actual combat. You can tell by the flaking of the chrome plating. There were combat variants and those are typically referred to as "Kyu Gunto".

Sharp eye Bruce!

 

They're interesting artifacts to own, I actually own two of them myself. It seems to be really hard to have one with fully intact plating. Even my best one has the plating chipped off the kissaki's very endpoint.
