Chinese proof mark on early German bayonet? ?

I am curious about an unaltered WW1 German bayonet having a proof mark that is said to be Chinese.  The mark is a small 6 point star with a small circle in the center.  I've been told that it is a North China Factory mark, 2nd Nanman Arsenal (Japanese Occupation.  That's all I Know.  If someone could cast some light on this subject I'd appreciate it.  s-l1600.jpg
