Steffieeee
An old kabuto helmet cord, the one that goes through loops in the helmet and ties under the menpo.ty
Bugyotsuji
Shinobu-no-o it’s called. They come in brand new, to old and dusty, shredded and falling apart. Genuine old silk perishes naturally so it will have no strength in it. You are wanting a Shinobu-no-o just for looks, i.e. display, right?
Steffieeee
Yes piers just for display. I don't want a new one but something that doesn't turn to dust instantly might be a good idea
Bugyotsuji
We do full armour displays here and the members use a variety of ropes, from genuinely authentic to some not quite so. A good thick cord will look much better than nothing for the time being, at least until you can upgrade. I have a bag of assorted cords here but I’m a million miles away! My wife covered a genuine old one for me in a silk sausage bag which she sewed and then turned inside out. A long tight fit, I was amazed that she had even attempted it after just one cursory glance at an old silk cover.
Steffieeee
I'd rather just wait to get an old real one rather than use something else. Otherwise once it's in there it will stay there forever..
