Translation help on "woodblock print" much appreciated

Hi All,

 

I have added additional photos.

The first two photos are back images.

 

Since, the translation provided by Moriyama-san is Suzuributa (many thanks). Is this a woodblock print??

Yes this is a woodblock print. The other kanji are hard to read. A better picture (close up) of those kanji might help to find out more details about this print. 

It looks like its a picture of warblers (uguisu - 鶯) and geese (ga - 鵞), but I'm not an ornithologist and I would like to see the kanji better because neither of my suggestions looks like a solid match. I have some doubts. The one next to suzuributa is also eluding me. Something 画?

Although I am not familiar with woodblock prints, I guess that the paper might be a block copy to use when you carve a woodblock because the paper seems to be very thin.

That does not look to be full-scale coloring to me.

I don't know much about this kind of prints, but a google search does yield artists, such as e.g. Kono Bairei, whose coloring was similarly sparse. Greg, do you know who the author of the print is?

As the print lacks the usual publishers and censors seals, is there any chance that this could be a catalogue of images to be used as a reference for artists? I had one once which had similar pictures and it rang a bell.

I could find a clear picture at National Diet Library.

Then I can read the caption other than "suzuributa".
