Help with paper

was told this paper went with this sword can any body help with translation it’s a wakasahi can’t get that good a shot of the signature will try to take a better one . Any help would be appreciated.

That would be a registration paper.

 

The column second from the left has the signature as it is written, "Seki ju Kanesada".

This is to say that your wak is signed by Kanesada of Seki  =  a Mino area smith.

Should the registration paper have a date on it ? If so where would it be. Also The blade is not in that good of shape would it be worth it for me to get it polished ?

Hi Mike,

The registration paper is pretty much worthless; all swords in Japan have to have one but is says nothing about quality or legitimacy of the signature.  It is just a license.  Whether the sword warrants a polish is something a properly trained polisher can tell you after he has seen it in hand.  Not a lot we can do from the pictures.
