Japanese WW2 katana translation help

Hello, I recently acquired a WW2 Japanese naval officers sword but the blade is not standard on the fittings with no stamps but with a signature i appreciate any kind of input on the blade thanks, Derek.

Of the three kanji, the top one is easy, the middle one is almost a given (considering WW2 swords) and the third one is tricky.

thanks Steve would there be any kind of value on the blade itself or is its value strictly as a world war II collectible? I'm not trying to sell it I love to hunt and collect these swords and i am new to Japanese swords I mostly deal with civil war era blades and such so I just was wondering if you could help me out on this one. Hello Derek,

 

I think this is something for the militaria collectors. If its in good condition, with no obvious flaws, and nobody has taken any power tools or sandpaper to it, people will be interested in it, especially if it has its original scabbard and other parts. But its not a multi-thousand dollar heirloom-quality, sword. Most WW2 swords seem to hover around the $800 - $1000 range, with extra fine examples going for over $1000.

KANEHARU (兼治), Shōwa (昭和, 1926-1989), Gifu – “Kaneharu” (兼治), real name Mori Ryōtarō (森良太郎), born October 19th 1904, he worked as a guntō smith
