Saw a photo of part of this gorgeous lacquered tsuba by Shibata Zeshin. I know he rarely did tsubas, and most were wood with lacquer so mostly art pieces and not exactly in the normal "tosogu" realm we talk about. However I was hoping perhaps someone has more photos of this gorgeous Japanese Beetle tsuba?

Beautiful, I have had the pleasure of handling a number of these over the years.  Zeshin's ability to mimic other materials in lacquer is uncanny, the perfect illusion is broken only when you take the piece in hand.

I fell upon a lacquered tonkotsu with a beetle by Zeshin today:
