The Gassan influence can clearly be seen in the jihada of Sadayoshi blades. Enomoto Sadayoshi typically produced a very pronounced and beautiful jihada in his blades. This exceptional sword is currently in Japan. Length: 73 cm. Sori: 1.9 cm. Enomoto Sadayoshi 榎本貞吉 a Mukansa recognized swordsmith was born in 1908 (Meiji 41) in Tokushima Prefecture. In 1928 (Showa 3), he moved to Osaka in order to study under Gassan Sadakatsu 月山貞勝. Sadayoshi impressed his teacher Sadakatsu 貞勝 and was then taught the Ayasugi-style forging secrets. Enomoto Sadayoshi was one of the Rikugun Jumei Tosho sword smiths during WWII. When Sadakatsu died in 1943 (Showa 18), Sadayoshi moved to Mishima, a city in Shizuoka Prefecture. After the war, he went on to win many prizes in NBTHK competitions. He was finally recognized as a Mukansa in 1996. Sadayoshi passed away at 92 years of age in 2000.
