Help Please On Two Wwii Bringbacks.

Recommended Posts

The first one(With Habaki attached) measures 33-5/8 overall, with a 25-5/16 blade.

The second one measures 33-3/8 overal, with a 26.5" blade.

They were all in gunto mounts. They had the Tsukas and Sayas, but missing almost everything else. The one that doesn't have the habaki on it actually has one(nice copper habaki with silver foil overalay)

I'm hoping someone can read the Mei. If more pictures are needed let me know. I can try to get better quality ones. Thanks in advance.

Logan,

the MEI on the GUNTO seems to read MASAHIRO, the second blade is an older one (EDO period?) probably from YAMATO province. I cannot read the signature correctly (MASA something?), but the smith has a FUJIWARA title.

TSUKA and SAYA (no plural form in Japanese nouns!) are important, TSUBA and SEPPA might be easily replaced.

Please try to show picture always tip-up.
