the never ceasing questions..

can anyone tell me the hada type? I've been trying to get pictures and trying to see it in different lights but keeps showing up more glistening than in hand... I assume that to be intermittent nie?

Don't do so close. Never helps when looking at swords and just makes things look rougher.
Take from further away. The thumbs here are more useful than the full pics.
Resist the urge to put things in neat boxes. Hada is not a science, and things don't follow the books always.

From the other thread. There are dueling threads on this menuki. Piers suggests another possible reading and meaning (Tadayuki no Tamashii). Personally I don't think this refers to an individual. I think its just a generic invocation of bushi virtue.
