Heianjo Tsuba Theme

Dear all

I know that it will sound a little heretic and pretentious from my side bur I do not find the description given by NBTHK sensei of one of the tsuba I have recenty acquired!

Here it is:

Dimensions: 82 mm x 78 mm x 4 mm.

The tsuba is defined as scatterd mons, Monchirashi no zu (小紋散図).

To me it looks more like snow on the ground and snow flakes.

I have seens several examples in the past where that patched zogan is described as snow, one among other is http://varshavskycollection.com/collection/tsu-0361/.

The only thing that leaves me with doubt is how to describe the zogan on the mimi and how to fit it in the snow theme.

Any opinion is, as usual, welcome!

Best Regards

Luca

Excellent type of this kind Luca!

i have seen maybe 4 or 5 yet in my hands....

( well, you should know that NBTHK those years- did post a lot of questionable attributions in their´s "essayes" :)

-(do better head you for the older "attributions"....!!!) ( if you do concern certifications )-

after the 90´s there has ben a massive declination in regard to/of authentifications of Tosogo....

2cents to this thematics....

2000 Dollars to your´s Tsuba!

( very nice! and equally very rare to find these days now!)

( i had a friend who keenly did collect them! he would ( if still alive) pay you what i write....)

Christian

( a very nice! exemplaire here....definitely!)

 my very honest congratulations!

Wow Bruno! Nice piece!

They are quite close! Same decoration I see some difference in the iron and its finish. The iron in yours is quite smoother while mine is tsuchime ji.

There is any zogan on the mimi of yours?

Luca

Luca,

I join a pictures of the mimi which looks similar to yours.

Definitively both tsuba are from the same school/influence and I would also be very interested in having a theme description. When I purchased mine, the sole description was "Heianjo".

Let see in someone can give a clue....

Cheers
