I agree with you regarding the lidded cups.

 

If they are bone, you may see tiny black dots which would be the blood vessels, unless they were bleached before patinating, 

 

If you have a 10x magnifying loupe, you should be able to see depressions where the blood vessels have been bleached.

 

As there are differences in the shape, I'm pretty sure they are not resin.

 

If you really want to know the material and do not have a mass spectrometer for isotope analysis to hand, then you can always try the old red hot needle method.

 

Basics are: Ivory does not burn, bone will sear and some of the newer resins will also sear and the old ones may smoulder with an interesting aroma or just plain go up in flames...... 

 

Do it outside for safety.  :)
