Tsuba Box Help

Hi

I bought this tsuba in a job lot but this one had kanji on the lid

It would be great if someone could translate the kanji so I so I can match it up with a suitable tsuba

As at the moment it is just an orphan box it doesn’t make a lot of sense to get it professionally translated

美の所有權は  -  ownership​ of beauty...?

Sounds a bit shonky. As far as I know, its not a Japanese maxim. Maybe it was an attempt at something like "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder", but then its an unusual inscription for a tsuba box. Its kind of like saying, "this may not be your cup of tea, but I like it". 

 

Far left column is a date and kao. The only part of the date I can figure out 囗囗囗囗年元旦

~~~~year, New Year's Day.

 

I think its Showa. Well, I'm pretty sure the first is 昭, and once you are convinced of that it is nearly impossible to think of the second as anything but 和, but in this case 和 feels a bit off the mark. The two after that would be the zodiac year, but here again I'm slightly stumped. Looking at the third, I would assume 卯 (rabbit) but this should appears as the second kanji, the "branch" in the sexagenary cycle, not the first part, so again I'm thrown off.
