Kanemasa?

Hello all

Am really struggling with this one. I work from The Arts of the Japanese Sword (and a couple of other modern swordsmith books) but this simple last character has beaten me; I can not find it anywhere and can only assume it is a badly done Masa?

Yep you are right 土岐兼正作　－Toki Kanemasa saku

from Markus book:

KANEMASA (兼正), Shōwa (昭和, 1926-1989), Gifu – “Kanemasa” (兼正), real name Toki Yoshihira (土岐善平), born November 21st 1897, he worked as a guntō smith and died November 2nd 1980

Masa is often written like that. Nothing really 'bad' about it once you get used to seeing it, just a fashionable thing.
