Help In Appraisal

Recommended Posts

I was asked by the widow of my dear friend if I could help her find the value of her husband's sword collection. The first one I asked for a translation of the signature on the tang was identified by the members here as gundaito forged by Kojima Kanenori with Yasugi steel. Here are the rest of the pictures, to try and get some kind of a value. I recently saw a Kanenori, very similar to the one I have with a buy it now bid of $6,500.00. Please let me know what you think.

Thomas, you need to go back to your original post and check the translation I provided. In fact, this thread could be tacked on to that earlier thread, it seems.

I agree with John above about the value of the sword. I think $1000 would be ambitious, given the condition of the sword, but the market for militaria seems to be reasonably healthy these days.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one, unless your post is really relevant and adds to the topic..
