Yes, Jussi is right. This blade had been offered for sale here in the sales section. There was a black spot in the Hamon. After Ken had inquired about it and asked for further images it turned out that the spot was actually a pretty bad open fukure right in the Hamon. Rather large.

 

Now aside from this blade being Gimei and not matching the workmanship of that smith / school at all - which a potential buyer is welcome to determine - I think it is not right to neither point out nor to show such a bad flaw. The seller is well aware of it. A buyer will not be based on these images and description provided. This is a major Kizu and whoever buys this will not be happy about it uppon arrival.

Ah, of course. Well there you go, hopefully any astute buyer does some research and is aware of our concerns. Personally I generally have had good luck on ebay simply due to doing research and knowing alot of Nihonto are on there for the reasons we see here.
