Hello all. Just a question about the values of gendai Nagamitsu blades. The one I have seen is signed Bzen Nagamitsu, is average length, quite clean and straight in medium quality gunto mounts with war time polish.

What are the values of Nagamitsu blades?

Chris.

Part of the cost depends on the way they're signed.   The Best three sigs. are:   Bishu (Bizen) no Kuni  Ichirushi Ichihara Nagamitsu Saku.;  Bishu (Bizen) Nagamitsu saku and  Just niji mei  Naga mistsu.  Then come the others. Ichirushi,  Ichihara nagamitsu and Nagamitsu saku.  The full signature one, pulls big money.   All the rest, depending on condition etc.   Very good condition, about US $2.5K.

Wartime polish with some scratches Nagamitsu in good condition with a nice koshirae 1900 - 2200 Dollar. Thats my experience. Nagamitsu in fresh polish in shira saya and new habaki and mostly damaged Koshira around 2500 Dollar. In perfect newly condition (wartime polish and mint Koshirae) around 3k.

Best

in case you haven't read. i think strokes are discussed.

Remember he had students as well who signed his name, its all about how well its made, needs to be seen in hand by someone in the know.
