That is a Sekibun signature. He's especially known for his tiger theme.

That would be most of the value of this package.

I have no opinion on whether it is real or not, as he was a relatively popular target for gimei.

I hadn't realized the f/k are also supposedly by Sekibun.

The kozuka is a cheap one and certainly added.

 

I like Sekibun work a lot and have an NBTHK papered kozuka by him, signed as a hommage piece to Yasuchika.

Still, it is a devil of a signature to declare 'authentic' or gimei. Confidence is never extremely high when it comes to voicing an opinion on his.

The tsuba is brass so no, it wouldn't ever have looked like shakudo.  The brass patina is pretty reasonable imo. I wouldn't fuss with it.

The tsuba linked to by DRDave above , is currently behind bars in the U.K.

 

For those who can make it to the Utrecht event in June, it should be uncaged together with some close relatives and other beasts....

 

In general terms , my personal view is that the Sekibun artists , although recognised for their undoubted abilities in the fittings field , are given less consideration than is their due. I shall also be taking along a Tok.Hozon rated set of tiger fittings together with a gorgeous fuchi/kash in silver with carp motif by this school.
