do have a look for better quality Iai-To like those are offered by Japanese Budo material providers......

exactly the same copper aloy Tsuba en masse......

 

too many fakes, vintage or modern cast Tsuba on the market meanwhile! ( of course! offered as original! or "unknown"- LOL! )

 

do have a look on all these various salesplatforms like Yahoo,Trocadero,Ebay and stuff.... !

easier to preferably burn your´s money immediately !

 

 

only do buy from thrusted longyear dealers or longyear collectors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The fake mei on the bamboo tsuba is indeed Ishiguro but the original tsuba it's based on is by Kano Natsuo.

 

The front is in iron.

 

 

and the reverse is shibuichi with silver inlay.

I have the impression that your TSUBA are in fact genuine ones, but lost their patination due to sandblasting or acid treatment or accidental salt-water exposition.

the problem but is that such garbage continually dumpens the request for the real stuff......

what shall a newbee think about investing his money into such ?

most probably the typical behaviour....first buy...then ask....and finally fall out of the sky....

 

i just noticed that in last 6 or 7 months...there´s a very strong increase of such kind of offers from Japan.....

Brian, these composite type pieces are not particularly common but there are a fair number of relatively well published examples in the literature. Particularly right at the end of the Edo period and into the Meiji.
