Hello  Forum,

I believe it is the same guy that was selling many "Japanese Blades", previously with a different "Vendor" names.

I did buy one from him,  :) ,  after many post from Forums was asking about the authenticity of the Mei on these Blades.

There was several vendors selling "These types" of Blades.

Jussi E. was kind enough to help research the Blade, when another member was asking about the Mei, on this Blade , than I bought.

I paid $530 for this Blade.

The smith even got the Ware right! :)

But to be serious, whoever does them has some talent. The best Hada on that type of blades I have seen so far. Good job. If the smith took some training in Japan he could produce really nice modern made swords or offer other kind of services. Sayingit is a Japanese Samurai sword is of course misleading. I bet there would be a good market among martial artists for honest offerings who want to have them for Iai Do, Cutting Tests or whatever.

Heres another seller. User ID is a common Chinese name and he is located in China.https://www.ebay.ca/sch/changtian-sword/m.html?item=292429705656&hash=item44162b31b8%3Ag%3AGoQAAOSwK6pab9xd&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562... .I saw one of these blades the other day with a sort of ayasugi hada. Here: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/292428365994 . I was shocked. Definitely suspicious. These are high level fakes specifically meant to fool novice collectors. Definitely coming from the same place that komonjo is getting his. I asked him where he got them and he said that he was getting them in bulk on consignment from a dealer in Japan who buys them at auction in bundles. I don't buy that though. Here is Komonjo (Mike Yamaguchi) response to me.

edit: seller says he is in the US but if you check the profile ebay says he's based in CHINA.

Personally I would not mind at all to get restoration work done in China if the quality and price is right. The market is tough and unfortuantely does not keep up to what a Westrn (or Japanese) cratfman often will have to ask in wages. It is a pitty but reality, If you take an average qualiyt sword there is just no economical way to put 700 USD into a new Shirasaya or 350 USD into a Habaki ... you will be buried. In the end I respect the quality of a craftman no matter where he comes from. This guy has talent and if he was offering good qualiyt Habaki or Shirasaya I would not mind at all using him.
