Hi Ladies and Gents

I would like to know how OHada affects the value and indeed aesthetic of a sword please? Just opinions on how you react and view this feature.

Best Regards

Rayhan

Hi Rayhan:

Like most things people like different things. Some love o hada others do not. I find hada one of the most appealing things about swords. Good o hada is wonderful to look at. Poor o hada awful. I can say the same for Hizen hada, masame hada etc. Look at good examples is the best advice I can give. Some would call matsukawa hada (Norishige) o hada. I love his hada...

I think I am more influenced by hard or soft hada. That wet look of a proper polish combined with well done hada does it for me. Hard, "dry" looking hada turns me off.
O-hada is not as coveted as a nice tight hada imho though, if I have to make a choice.
