Long Shot On (Shôami) Kaneshige

Hello,

I am looking for the picture of an iron tsuba with a landscape design using gold nunome-zôgan.

The tsuba is signed Kaneshige 兼重

I understand there is one published in a small Japanese book somewhere....

Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

Not at all Ford.
There exists a small group of iron tsuba with iron inlay and gold nunome zôgan that are attributed to the (Ko-)Shôami. They generally represent a landscape with hut(s), people, boats, etc
Here is an example from Haynes' last book

I am looking for a similar style tsuba that is signed Kaneshige (17th century)

Thanks

Paul
