Ww2 Showa Blade And Fittings But With Hamon

Recommended Posts

Matthew,

yes, that is a KAMON, a family badge. They were widely used and after the SAMURAI era also by commons, so it will probably be difficult to relate it to the family of the former owner. I have tried myself to give a sword back, but to no avail.

Dear Matthew.

So what you have is a nice example of a shingunto with a Showa blade, signed and of some interest, (There were at least three Kanetaka so some research here but it's not Matsuda Kanetaka).

The koshirae is in good condition, it has a rank tassel and a silver mon on the kabuto gane.

All in all a very nice package.

Enjoy.

Thankyou and thank all that have helped me understand this sword :)
