New member here... I am interested in learning more about the technique used to create mokume. I am really only interested in the all-iron type, not the mixed metals.  Is the material is created by hammer welding numerous layers of (two?) types of iron, say a high-carbon and low-carbon, then, is the pattern "revealed" by etching the surface of the tsuba with acid?
