Suspicious Caligraphy?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Browsing aoi-art, i came across the following auction. The paper kind of made me raise an eyebrow, as the way its written seems illogical to me. I don't think i ever noticed the difference in writing and ink before on a paper like this one has.

Maybe they prepare papers before hand and fill in parts later but i don't know. Seems like the difference in thickness of ink, hue etc seems perhaps suspicious?

Hope to hear what you all think..

Kind regards,

Axel

Axel - all the papers are pre-printed and the salient information then filled in, even on old papers like this one.  It would be a wasted effort to hand write each paper again and again where the basic information is always the same.

BTW - Showa 37 is quite old and there might be some pigment loss due to age.

Aoi: "This sword belongs to ranking." ...something missing?

The calligraphy looks well done (to my untrained eye), ie nothing to worry about. BTW, I have a spear with the same kind of Tokubetsu Kicho paperwork signed by the first NBTHK president Hosokawa Moritatsu (1883~1970). Before Honma Junji.
