Type 98 Tang Translation

Hello all, new member here and believe me I've tried but obviously this is a skill obtained over a long time so i'm reaching out for help translating this tang on a type 98 i'm looking at to buy. Thanks in advance for any help and I'll keep on trying in the meantime and see how much i get right but at the moment I've translated 0%.

The signature says 堀川治右衛門國威 (Horikawa Jiuemon Kunitake) .
Date is Feb., 1943.

He was a good smith and RJT smith in Akita prefecture.

Sword has seen better days and has been cleaned/polished, can still make out the hamon in places.
