Set of two screens! Very large! Each screen in six folding sections: height is 173 cm and length is 336 cm.  Condition is excellent! Screen paintings were remounted.  Motif is dragons and clouds.  Screen 1 has one dragon and screen 2 has two dragons.  These were formerly the property of the Sword Fittings Museum and were on display there....These would look spectacular framed in gold lacquer and mounted on a big wall  in a board room or hotel!  Great background for your armor collection.  These huge screens come in a custom-made storage crate. Delivery not included but will arrange discount air cargo shipping.....

Price yen 850,000 or a strong offer.......

Best Regards,

Robert Hughes

Hi Nick

It has been suggested that the dragon paintings could be Meiji/Taisho and then remounted...I have not been able to find any information on the artist...so this is an ongoing process.....they could turn out to be early Showa productions but still very remarkable...

Best,

Robert

Fantastic.

I was going to buy it, but I figured it would be prudent to show it to the wife before I re-decorate our home with this giant byobu. It's not to her taste, alas!

I've seen a lot of byobus in Japan, and we have a few. And I can say from my (limited) exposure hat this one is spectacular and fairly priced. Heck, I'm envious of its future owner!
