WWII era Gendai-to signed Takai Sadatsugu Kitae Kore.

According to this thread, he was an RJT smith and only made Gendai-to.

The nakago is not dated or star stamped and the nagasa is 64.5cm.

It was polished in the UK by the usual suspect (must have been awhile ago now judging by the light surface scratches) and it's an ok polish but not great. It has an interesting forging grain so would benefit from a skilled pair of hands to re-finish it properly. However, here are a few small holes which can been seen in the photos.

It's mounted in civilian koshirae, the iron tsuba is actually pretty decent but I'm pretty sure the saya is modern.

Anyway, it is what it is hence the cheap price of £1100.

Feel free to ask for additional pics.

Cheers

Ben
