Nihonto Koza Needed

Recommended Posts

Gentlemen, and Ladies...any here?

A friend of mine, Michael Hattori, is a talented and classically trained kumihimo weaver (Domyo School) and is keen on learning more about sageo in their historical context. Apparently there is a good section on this subject in the Nihonto Koza.

Michael writes;

I am hoping to learn more about sageo styles and such, if I can get my hands on Volume 11 of an early 20th c. collection of books on Japanese swords called the Nihontô Kôza. Volume 11 has a section specifically on sword braids written by the 12th gen. head of the Domyo school of braiding.

So I was wondering if anyone has a copy of this volume and might be able somehow make a copy for Michael.

And if you're interested to see him at work making a sageo for a project I completed a little while ago here's a link to a short film.

Thank you

Vol. 11 is part of the original 1930's twenty volume set - the titel in Japanese is 日本刀講座第拾壹巻. I checked some of the antiquarian book sellers' websites I know of, but couldn't locate it. Good luck.
