Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am new to this forum and want to say thank you in advance for an help. I have a sword I would like some help finding info on. I have posted a link to a Photo bucket album with picture (ignore the first two, they are a NCO). I hope post links are ok. I also have some Tsuba's i will post on the fittings page. the sword does have a small fracture in the blade. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum, but who are you? Please post at least your first name on all posts, per Brian's rules.

Ignoring the first two images, your blade isn't showing enough detail to help with identification. Please post in-focus photos showing (1) the entire bare blade (the blade shape is called the sugata, & is essential to determine its age), (2) the boshi (the tip of the blade, which also provides key data), & (3) the bare nakago (handle, without the habaki). The other items are simply "dressing" for the blade, & should be considered separately.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one, unless your post is really relevant and adds to the topic..
