Hello,

I recently got this from a garage sale and was wondering if anyone could help me authenticate it. and what it would be worth?
The sword has definitely seen better days, and the sheath is rusted. I saw a similar one on ebay for $500 but there was numbering on the sheath where it meets the sword. But Mine does not have that on the sheath, just numbering on the sword.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I agree, a reproduction. Some of these have the scabbard serial number on the drag. Either way, it is still a copy.

Hi guys,

This is the second I have seen this week with the date on the blade, the one illustrated looks like and acid etch for the Showa Ju Ni Nen.

The one I saw locally was stamped Showa Ju Nana Nen but did not have a serial number.

Caveat Emptor!!

Fake but won't look too bad on display, unless one of us collectors comes around!
