Two excellent books just listed on eBay:

Japanese sword book: "One Hundred Masterpieces from the Collection of Dr. Walter A. Compton".
Published by Christie's auction house in 1992.
A very large book - almost 15" X 11".
Large, beautiful pictures, with English text explanations, and some basic info in Japanese. See photos.
Many of the kodogu photos are in color.
I have been a Nihonto collector since 1982, but I am no longer active, and it's time to down-size some things before I retire.
Sold as-is (but the condition is Excellent - like new).

Japanese sword book (antique): "MEI TOu SHUu BI".
Published in Japan in 1948 by NBTHK.
A very large book - 14.5" X 10.5".
Large, beautiful pictures, with Japanese text explanations. No English. See photos.
Each blade/item is printed on one side of a sheet, with a brief description next to the picture, and a detailed
description paragraph at the end of the book.
Inside the front cover page is an insciption "Given to Muramoto Toukei(?), in Tokyo, by Hattori Eiji, March 1949".
Note that "Toukei" is probably not his real first name, but rather a nickname, because it means "Katana Older Brother".
As I recall, Mr. Muramoto was a well-known collector in California years ago.
The book is wrapped in an old mylar(?) protective cover, which is fastened with old tape to the insides of the cover (see photos).
I have been a Nihonto collector since 1982, but I am no longer active, and it's time to down-size some things before I retire.
Sold as-is. The condition is Very Good, especially considering the age. A couple of pages have tears that were repaired with tape.

The "Mei To Shu Bi" book is still available (still didn't sell on eBay - not relisted for now).

Can I interest anyone for $75 plus shipping?

Can I answer any questions about it?

The title means roughly "Famous Swords Beautiful Collection".

152 blades are covered, a full page dedicated to each one.
