Death-Ace
Measurements: Nagasa: 17.25 in Sori: 0.25 in Kissaki: 1.25 in Motokasane: 0.25 in Motohaba: 1.125 in Sakikasane: 0.75 in Sakihaba: 13/16 in Nakago: 4 7/8 in Hamon: Gunome Suguha Koshirae: Two piece silver foiled habaki. Bat themed gold plated copper shakudo fuchi and kashira. Shibuichi Tsuba with gold inlay copper plug covering kogai inlet. Rattan design saya with kozuka inlet. Blade: Looks to have quite a bit of "meat" left. I see about two areas of loose grain in the middle and a very tiny spot near the habaki. One spot of a delamination on the ji near the kissaki (omote). Suguha hamon with a spot of ko-notare near the habaki on the omote. Definitely o-suriage, with the remnants of yasurime noted. Looks like the nagasa was approximately three inches longer at one time. One neat little factor is a possible kirikomi near the hamachi that could have been a hakobore, requiring shortening. Spider rust and two tiny chips (one a half?) Neat little sword! Priced at $900 (free shipping, no fees!)

Dr Fox
Just a point of note. It appears that the menuki are placed almost exactly opposite, and close to the kashira. Also the same has been cut away, to 'seat' the missing menuki. Is this uncommon?
