Showa Sword With "rutsubo Iron"

Hi everyone, i came across this auction by aoi: https://www.aoijapan.com/katana-motte-rutsubo-ko-kanezane-saku-kore

 

Its described as being made with a so called Rutsubo technique. Is there anyone who knows what is meant by this? As in what kind of manufacturing is this and how is it different from regular nihonto?

I googled a little but that's primarily about metal treatment and not so much about the techniques of manufacturing a sword from the material.

I don't know anything about this type of manufacture but it is simular ASANO KANEZANE, on page 76 of John Sloughs book.

 

the attempt to remove the showa Stamp is very roughly done, but this smith is recorded to have made medium ranked gendai.

If you google the term, you'll find a 1973 patent application for a steel mold process, applied for by: "Original Assignee Nippon Rutsubo Kabushiki Kaish"

 

Kind of goes along with what Stephen is thinking.
