Livio 3rd
A Yoshiro Zogan tsuba in mokko-gata form with brass inlay of openwork flower ka-mon and of algae on the iron surface. Most examples of this type are maru-gata. Seems mokko may be particularly unusual for large examples like this tsuba. Deemed 16th century. About 3 1/4 inches (9.53 cm) high, about 3 1/8 inches (7.94 cm) wide, about 5/32 inches (4 mm) thick. We've listed this on our website at $1450. We will accept $1200 from an NMB member. I am tempted to keep this one but am being pressured to balance sales against recent "collecting". So... I have made it available for now. The familiar words "pictures don't do it justice" applies here too. This is a recent acquisition (within the past month.) This should paper well and I would certainly, then, be asking a greater price. Lee

Ken-Hawaii
Very nice, & just what I collect! I love Yoshiro & Heianjo tsuba! But I'm getting ready to sell a blade or two for the centerpiece of my collection. Ken
Livio 3rd
Thank you both. I may try to tempt you soon, Ken, with some Heianjo examples including a large tachi tsuba. Lee
