#3 Shoami Masanori, shakudo, 82 mm.

Haynes describes him as "the finest of all the Kyoto Shoami masters". And there is a theory that he actually was the Umetada Myoju.

One of my top favorites.

Very nice Ed, thanks for the revival! I was meaning to show a couple items a while back but lost the track of the thread.

Had these 2 nice Daisho Koshirae that I absolutely love. First is all matching Dragon and Mt. Fuji theme, in Shakudo and papered.

The second one is all matching solid silver fittings that make your eyes spin when you see it in hand. All bearing the Asano kamon at every little corner you look. Has the Kozuka and Wari-Kogai in the same theme, you can't see it in the pictures but the Mon on the Wari kogai is stick to only one side so there is a point that overlaps the non-carrying side. Enjoy.

Nick, It is nice to see all matching sets like these. Can't decide on a favorite, but probably the silver fittings. Thanks for posting them.

Fuchi Kashira by Ichinomiya Nagatsune, by mei would be middle term work ~ 1750.  NBTHK TBH origami (not yet in hand).  One of my most favorite acquisitions:

Pete,

Absolutely stunning.  Mmmmmmm...  I'm intrigued - why is the gentleman portrayed on the kashira giving himself a cricked neck???  Moon gazing??  Favourite lady leaning out an upper story window???  A curious mind wants to know (thanks Rick for the saying).

I wouldn’t call this set high quality, but it is my first set of genuine tosogu. I just need some menuki to pull it together.

It’s pieced together except for the F+K which were made together. The patina matches pretty well. Stephen was a ton of help bringing this set together.

We were thinking a predator would make a good menuki set to create balance, but Stephen mentioned moon menuki and the idea really stuck. I am think I like the “tranquility” theme with the moon and rabbit over the prey/predator “balance” theme.

Any suggestion on a good menuki set would be appreciated.

Love Nagatsune work. Very high up on my list of oneday must-have's.
And Nick, as always you blow us away with stuff that is just so far from understated, that it reflects a part of Japanese aesthetic that is 180 degrees from the usual wabi sabi.
