novel/47th samurai

Recommended Posts

Just picked up a neat new novel by Stephen Hunter titled the 47th Samurai.

It is a tale of two sons from opposite sides on Iwo Jima.. Sixty years after

the Japanese comes to America to recover his fathers sword that he used in battle. An american finds the sword and delivers it to the Japanese in Tokyo. On inspection they discover that it is a masterpiece, worth killing for.

I got this from a book store called "Borders Express". It is a new novel.

Thought you all would find it compelling as well.

A great read, it is an action packed samurai movie set in modern Japan. I recommend it highly.

Stephen made a point to make it realistic and not another "Kill Bill" type of movie. He bought several swords from me while doing the research for the 47th Samurai and sent me a signed copy prior to its release.

I was quite happy when he told me: "Your swords were the best, by the way, of the several sites I bought from, in terms of beauty and value."

He is is also author of "Point of impact" which was made into the movie "Shooter" with Mark Wahlberg (not the fittings dealer).

The main character "Bob Lee Swagger" is featured in both books.

Again I think you guys will like it.
