miura_anjin
Hi, I'm looking to sell this wakizashi, believed to be from the early Edo period, papered Hozon (2012) by the NBTHK to the Fujiwara Takeda School. This blade was purchased and papered in Tokyo. The blade is in good condition, although with minor rust to the mune and a few small surface blemishes. Hamon and other activity can easily be seen. It has been shortened and is mumei. The habaki is silver. The koshirae consists of an Edo-period wooden saya decorated with wonderful striped lacquer and crushed mother-of-pearl with a decorated iron kojiri as well, unfortunately it is damaged (the main area has been superficially repaired, in the long run a new shirasaya wouldn't hurt.) The tsuba is Edo period with some gold decoration, the menuki and whilst the kashira and fuchi-kashira seem of much more modern make. The menuki are of shi-dogs and I believe are Edo, the fuchi is iron and of simple design. The Kashira is modern and would benefit from replacement with something of the period. Price: $1500 If you are interested please PM me, I can deliver worldwide. (It will be delivered from the UK) Best Regards, Andy
