Kevin Adams
Morning all! Here's a piece that I've shown before as part of the "Stories In Steel" show I did back in the fall, but removed it from sale because I was unhappy with the texture and patina at the time. Now that I've had a chance to work it a bit more, it's back for sale, and priced to move. Description: Tsuba with daikon radish and butterfly. Daikon radishes are a widely-used vegetable in Japanese cooking even to this day - its ubiquity is considered auspicious and symbolic of good fortune. Since they are typically harvested in the fall, they are also symbolic of the transition associated with that season. Butterflies are a symbol of longevity, so the two together can be seen as a general statement of fortune and long life. Steel plate. Includes a custom-fitted kiribako. 78mm x 80mm.$600 USD + shipping & Paypal fees, if applicable. Thanks for looking!
