Austo1 Posted April 2, 2015 Report Share Posted April 2, 2015 WW2 Japanese Generals Sword Tassel that is guaranteed to be a 100% Original pre 1945 manufactured tassel. Photographs of this particular tassel can be seen on the flllowing pages of the book "Swords of Imperial Japan 1868-1945" by Jim Dawson Page 19 Page 158 Plate 13-8 Page 158 Plate 13- Page 159 Plate 13-11 Page 409 Plate 31-21 It is in wonderful condition and exhibits and individual look. The straps of this tassel have never been tied in the traditional manner. Two wear spots that can be seen on the insides of the tassel crowns are a result of the tassels rubbing together over time, and this suggests that the tassel has always been this way. The Japanese General who wore it attached to his shingunto during the war years might have been a bit of an individual character. If you prefer a tassel in mint or perfect condition, than this tassel is not for you, however if you want a guaranteed original, than this one is definately worth your consideration.
