You are right Max, and every connoisseurs knows that it is critical to get the nakago as sharp as possible

 

Hello Remy! Well said! That's the only reason why a Tsuka is an essential part of the Japanese sword. These greedy smiths invented the sharp Nagakos to make us buy their stupid Tsukas. :)

 

Hower the stupid Gaijin would badly cut off their hand and fingers at first use.

No offence but, there is no way that someone who can possibly produce such a "clean" weld would then savagely grind it like that ...

 

Makes me wonder tho, if the craped out nakago were to be taken away and a new one reshaped by a smith, might be a very costly operation... and you would lose much blade lenght, not even mentioning unbalancing the sugata, hum.. food for thought. the mei got grinded away some so i dont know how far this would be salvagable...
