Dear Gentlemen,

 

here´s a phantastic well and nicely done publication i recently fell over.

 

this here, is the privately done exemplaire from the publisher himself (it´s considerably other done than those which were done for the marketseries!)

much crisper details and brocate bindings and luxus paper, ect ect....(see mine attached pictures)

Silk Bound in light tan lettered in greyish-white. Limited Edition 1/1050 copies. As new in original shipping box. Errata slip & page 49A present. Originally published at $1500. A hefty tome approximately 19" tall by 12 1/2" wide by 2 3/8" thick. 494 pages. 541 captioned illustrations. Informative Preface, Introduction & Acknowledgements with Bibliography & Glossary at rear. 

 

Surimono: Literally, "printed thing" & specifically a luxurious single-sheet print on unsized paper produced to special order for greetings, announcements, etc., notably as New Year gifts. Distinguished from other wood block prints by short editions, at times singular, frequent enhancement with gold, silver and copper onlays, special paper, random shading achieved by floating the color on the wet block & wiped shading accomplished by carefully wiping the block over the area to be shaded.

 

Prints by Elbow: Gauffrage, embossed printing, done with an inkless plate impression to give depth and texture. Required pressure was applied frequently by employing the point of the elbow to ensure the deep bite of the block.

 

A beautiful production and a book to be cherished for a lifetime and beyond.

(i do confess, it´s a phantastic nice book with really wonderful prints!-I BUT DO NEVER HAD SERIOUS INTERESTS INTO PRINTS!...so???????? what shall i do with it?)
