Higo-san
Dear fellow board members, so this is part II of IV of the - what I call - "Fork, Knive and Spoon Sale". To read the whole story about the topic's name please refer to part I. This is a really high-end piece in the typical style of the Hirata school which was founded by Hirata Donin in the Edo period: inlayed on a beautifully structured shakudo base, there are in total eight small pieces of cloisonné with small gold rims inlayed. The theme is Mount Fuji. This sale is about a Fuchi only - the kashira is unfortunately missing. But it can be "completed" for mounting by using a black laquered horn kashira. This looks incredible nice if being mounted that way. Otherwise it is a perfect reference piece which comes cheap when compared to other offers for a complete set of fuchi and kashira (I have seen prices of up to USD 4,000.00 to 6,000.00 for unsigned pieces)... Dimensions are 3.9 cm x 2.1 cm (nakago ana being 2.7 cm x 0.8 cm) I am asking EUR 720.00 (which corresponds to about USD 960.00). Payment via PayPal is possible. Shipping costs are EUR 3.90 within Germany. EUR 8.79 EUR EUR within the EU and EUR 15.79 worldwide. Best, Chris
