Shibata this month have a superb tsuba featured in their magazine 'Shibata Rei'

The guard was made by Shoami Katsuyoshi and is signed as such with a Kao

 

正阿弥勝義

 

The photos are sadly in black and white but he workmanship looks outstanding, as it should. It was designated Juyo in 2005. There is a lot of information that I unfortunately cannot read, however the theme is of Myo-o and a little devil but I am not certain about that.

 

I am hoping one or more of our friends in Japan can call in and have a look. At 470 Man yen or roughly US$38,403.39 it certainly deserves a visit.
