Another classic blade currently on eBay!

Purporting to be a shinken that is "polished partly"........."destroyed totally" more like.

Just check out the shinogi....it made me sea-sick looking at it!

Presumably, his polisher comes from a rare tradition that uses house-bricks and blind-folds.

Since the era is given as June 2007, and the machi are band new, I would think this is a shinsakuto that for some reason was not finished. Maybe they found something that made it not worth continuing the work. The shinogi would be that way before the final shape is realised through the togi process.

At the current price, and given no fatal flaws, I think this is a steal that could be sent for a full polish. But more info is needed on who made it and why the process was halted. Consider it in the mid production stage :)

Sorry guys, I stand corrected yet again!

I honestly thought that re-shaping and re-aligning those shinogi would mean such a drastic loss of steel that you'd virtually be down to core-steel, brand new sword or not.

Also, I saw and handled two new shinken at a recent exhibition in exactly the same stage of polishing and the shinogi on both were totally crisp and straight - hence my thinking this one on eBay was a complete abortion.
