what school is this ? I am thinking Ito/Bushu type..............

the shape is a bit " oblong ", not round.

 

p.s. while " boning " it with ivory chip, I feel the iron is " soft "

and thanks to Pete who pointed out " oil rust ".

Look esp. at the seppa dai.

I have cleaned off most of it, the oil rust looks very black and have a soft " oily " feel to it ( this is to say, when you scrap it with ivory, the black powder sort of lump/stick together ). It appears dull ( before you disturb it )

see this type of carving in the round quite often ( fish, shrimp, lobster ).............
